Welcome to Australia’s School of Stand up Comedy!
We would like to thank the over 1400+ students, venues, conference centers, festivals, promoters and comedians who have supported and work with our school for over 14 years, across the country and of course, the students who have trained, and performed in our classes and comedy clubs in Sydney, Adelaide, Melbourne, Canberra and Brisbane. Over the last 14 years, our graduates have gone on to perform at hundreds of venues across the country. Most students, after graduation, hit the open mic and comedy club scene and for their first 2 -3 gigs, they invite an average of 2-3 paying guest, who buy tickets, drinks, meals and play pokies etc, which has helped contribute thousands of dollars to help sustain the industry, across the country. ( Both open mic and professional comedy rooms, a lot of our graduates have performed in both), We’re very proud of that, as well as, training and introducing a whole new line up of undiscovered comedic talent to the comedy scene. We’ve had several graduates perform on AGT, SBS, TV Commercials and 3 Graduates who made the top 3 in the Melb Televised Raw Comedy Competitions. We’re also happy that some of our graduates, have even gone on to start their very own schools, such as the founders of Melbourne’s “School of Hard Knock Knocks” and ” Sydney’s Comedy School, they are both former graduates of Australia’s School of Stand up Comedy. Hey, learning stand up can be funny, and fun but please be aware, the instructors take this industry very seriously, there will be homework, daily practice tips for home, several performances of your routine in class and a final exam plus live performances at graduation. We don’t recommend showing up the first day without your assigned Homework assignment, we will just send you home to return the next day. Our main objective is to make you the best comic we can, we make it fun but we’re not Club Med and because of this, our grads are the who’s who on the comedy scene NOTE: We don’t write your jokes for you or offer to pay you before you have paid your dues with lots of stage experience and practice.
Please check to see if this course won’t conflict with your current work or school schedule or other Commitments and make sure you’re able to be flexible with your course dates, incase we have to move or cancel a class due to gov shutdowns or low student numbers. If it does, we recommend not booking at this time. Best to wait till you have the time.
